10 Interior Design Finds I'm Loving Now

Crisp white walls, a ton of natural light and rattan everything... these are a few of my current favorite things. With the challenge of making a new space feel like home in a completely foreign country looming, I've been pinning inspiring rooms like crazy lately. While I know we'll be dealing with a few interior limitations (namely white concrete walls, government issue wooden furniture and rattan pieces), I'm really looking forward to the challenge. In an effort to fully embrace the island lifestyle I'm leaning into beachy furnishings, a lot of tropical plant life and simple set-ups. Of course, we're toting along a few of our favorite pieces like the textiles that we brought back from Morocco, small pieces of accent furniture (like a few mid-century tables and our bar cart) and a green velvet sofa. I'm banking on these things giving character to our otherwise standard space.

A few more things I'd love to bring along:

Lately I've been pretty obsessed with Jenni Kayne's brand blog, Rip & Tan. It's bright, inspiring and pretty much epitomizes all of the things I'm craving right now. When I saw Erin Fetherston's airy Los Angeles home pop onto the scene, I quickly changed tabs and soaked up every minimal room with excitement. There's just something about a palette of white, light wood and natural woven texture that puts me in a peaceful place. With my eye on the prize of warmer climes and sunnier days, I've been pinning away beachy images and dreaming of calming spaces like this one.

Recently something has sparked in my soul and I'm thoroughly OVER winter. I'm ready for sunshine and warmth, dreaming of light-filled spaces and longer days. I'm itching to take a trip to the beach (stay tuned for a big announcement... I have a strong feeling there will be ample rays in my future) and get away from the chill that has been in the air these past few months.

Enter, Rip & Tan, Jenni Kayne's lifestyle offshoot blog that encompasses all things California cool and is filled with a special sun-drenched style that only those on the West Coast seem to posess. In particular, I am completely loving Lisa Moir's Mill Valley home tour. This beautiful a-frame nestled somewhere in the Northern California red woods is oozing with coastal touches and serious style. I'm totally digging the organic, beachy, mid-century vibes this talented stylist is laying down in her home!
