April Mood
april-mood.jpg

Hi guys! Happy April! I owe you a little apology for pretty much ghosting this space for the last couple of months. Recently, things have been nuts (more on that later!) and I'm in the thick of figuring out a plan for Summer, learning how to juggle all of the freelance jobs at once, managing school and wading through the minutia of life. This week has also been Lorelai's Spring Break and what little down time I do have, I've been trying to spend with her. We've got big plans to hit up the beach later today. Woo!

Lately, something has been on my mind and I'm not entirely sure where this blog and I stand. As I get older, I have been feeling pulled to turn even further inwards and sharing just isn't as big of a priority as it has been in the past. Instead of talking about life, I've been feeling called to live it. Groundbreaking, right? Not really, but that's where I'm at right now. While I know that I'll likely never want to stop blogging completely (I think it's important to keep this online space that I have slowly carved out for myself over the last eight years alive), I'm sorting out what the natural evolution of blogging is in an oversaturated market that has started to feel, lately more than ever, less and less about genuine connection and more about pointless product placement and ad revenue. At this point, I'm rambling and probably not saying anything new that I haven't rambled about before so I'll just say, thank you. Thank you for continuing to support what I do and how I do it.

This month's mood is kind of listless but mostly stoked to hang out in the sun and snuggle my family. Do things ever really change?

p.s. If you've missed regular posting here, don't forget to check out my work on SF Girl By Bay and Glitter Guide. I'm much more active blogging for those two sites (that I love) lately.

Once I find the time, you can expect to see travel posts + video diaries for Thailand and Japan as well as a cool video project, the first book club selection and a new series that I couldn't be more excited about. I promise, good things are coming!

As always, my monthly moodboard is a collection of things I've been pinning lately. Head over to pinterest to see everything that's catching my eye lately.

10 Things...

You guys, I'm EXHAUSTED. There really is no other way to slice it... I'm just full-on worn out right now and this space is suffering for it. Luckily, I've got rest on the horizon and hopefully, things will return to business as usual soon.

I'm finally making way on a BIG project that has been brewing for months. I hate to always be that person who says, "stay tuned!" but I promise, you'll want to see what's to come. Aside from blog work, I've been toiling away at school and things are picking up. It's funny, what I dreaded for so many years during my educational career, I'm actually really enjoying now. It's fun to write research papers with a little bit of wisdom and perspective under my belt (A LITTLE).

In lighter news, here are 10 things I'm loving right now:

1. Reformation finally launched a plus-sized line and I love that they're adding even more inclusivity to their line. With the advent of petites and a "big boobs" collection, the sustainable brand has been making strides toward body positivity lately. With a subscriber emailed entitled, "Sorry it took us so long," Reformation announced even more sizes and super cute styles this week. Yay!

2. With one eye on California (always) and big plans to spend at least a few weeks in San Francisco this summer, this Spell & The Gypsy Collective lookbook came at the perfect time! I'm loving all of the sites and the styling is superb.

3. This cool profile on Jordana Henry via St. Agni's 'In Her Shoes' series.

4. One of my favorite bloggers, Courtney Halverson (from prettylittlefawn) recently joined the ranks of Youtube and her trip to the desert with Chloe is what dreams are made of!

5. Speaking of Youtube, I've recently fallen back in love with The Hills' Whitney Port after watching her "I Love My Baby But..." series on Youtube. I'm loving this article (from Flare) about being more than just a mom and her thoughts on motherhood.

6. This space is way outside of my comfort zone but there's something about it that I LOVE. What do you think?

7. 13 Teenage Girls on the Impact of Social Media

8. This quote from Rihanna about her fluctuating body type really made me re-think the way I feel about changes in my own body. via Man Repeller

9. My two cents about getting out of a denim rut on the Glitter Guide.

10. & so. many. new. pins.

What's on your radar this month?

Lorelai in California

We've been talking a lot lately about our summer plans and I think they'll probably find us soaking up a different kind of sunshine in California. Ever the SoCal girl at heart, Lorelai is beyond excited and has been talking non-stop about all the things she hopes to do. To remind her of our last trip home, I put together a little video of clips from almost a year ago in Santa Monica, Downtown LA (at the Ice Cream Museum) and some other fun family snaps. Needless to say, she LOVED seeing some of her favorite moments (and her current favorite song... gotta love this girl!). The video was just too sweet not to share so here we are. Enjoy!
