Our Wedding: Dinner + Dessert
The dinner portion of our wedding was one of the most fun parts of the night! So much love, attention to detail and wonderful flavor went into every single thing we tasted and I can't tell you how fun it was not to partake in a run of the mill buffet. To me, eating has always been about people coming together and catching up. There's a special kind of magic that happens around the dinner table each night and we set out to mimic that feeling at our wedding. With one long farm table, 80 of our sweetest friends and The Confeastador's yummy creations we were able to connect everyone in our lives.
It was such a pleasure working so closely with The Confeastador taco truck in the months leading up to our day (I mean, how adorable is it!?) to come up with interesting flavors that accommodated everyone. We even dreamed up a vegan option and although I was too busy running around giving hugs to sit and enjoy a leisurely dinner (isn't that always how it goes?), what I tasted was delicious!
Ready to talk cake?! My sister Hannah (Wander & Whisk) is a truly talented pastry chef and we're so incredibly grateful to her for making our cake table so fun and special. She came through with not one but FOUR amazing cakes, each one more tasty and carefully thought out than the last. The flavors she whipped up included: blackberry champagne, espresso toffee dulce de leche, lemon lavender and dark chocolate with salted caramel drizzle. I'm getting hungry just thinking about all that sweetness! Ainsworth's grandma even brought along her famous Jamaican rum cake and we all had a giggle when the little kids found their way to the spiked dessert.
