Four Favorites: Random

Is it Wednesday already?! The extra long weekend (Tuesday wasn't part of the weekend you say? Oh well...) was so much fun. We spent some time at the pool (hello sunburn), went to the fair, celebrated Mr. Jackson's 25th birthday and I did some shooting for the blog with my friend Ginny from Sleepy Fox.

Since it's already time for another four favorites post, I'm sharing a few things I've been loving, doing and eying this month!

RECORD COLLECTING - Mr. Jackson and I have been working on a collection for years. With a trip to Huntsville's Vertical House Records under our belts, we've got quite a few new titles on the wishlist and I'm dying for a new player.

SOMETHING TROPICAL - Summer is here! Since the season is all about bright colors (which, frankly, I'm just not that comfortable in) and fun patterns, I'm adding this Tibi tank to my list of wants needs. The tropical print is perfect for days by the pool and black/white/grey is a color scheme I can get behind.

SUMMER LEATHER - Leather is a staple texture in my wardrobe. I love to wear my (faux) leather trousers and (real) leather jacket in the cooler months, but it's already reaching the 90s in Alabama. What's a girl to do? Try this Helmut Lang skirt until it's safe to cover your legs again.

RINGS, RINGS, RINGS - I've been wearing a mix of midi and dainty gold bands (mine are from H&M) nonstop lately! I love the little extra detail they add to every outfit.

Clear Skies Ahead

[show_ms_widget id="80388" image_id="126804" width="700" height="895"] I'm having a major light & airy moment! With my obsession spanning every shade from ecru to robin's egg, it looks like the moody days of Winter are finally behind me. I'm getting really excited for my trip to D.C. and I've got plans to stuff my luggage with breezy whites, comfy flats (for museum hopping, of course) and a little something to snap all of the fun details as they happen.

Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 - When my girl Sara shared her fun new purchase I couldn't help but think of all the little details I could document with one of these! Instagram is a blast but filtering and staging snapshots seems like a ton of work compared to the carefree shutter-snap + print style of this camera. Not to mention, I haven't printed a photo in years... I'd love to have some hard copies laying around!

H to T (head-to-toe) white via J.Crew - There's just something about all white that screams Spring. Although dangerous (I'm boycotting ketchup this season... one too many klutz moments), white ensembles are effortlessly cool and this ladylike skirt is at the top of my list. Weather permitting, I'm sticking to sparkly sandals and neutrals during our vacation.

Tradition Mayor Sofa - I last mentioned this modern couch here and have since fallen deeper and deeper for its clean lines and ice cream colored upholstery. At first I was thinking pink would be the perfect refresh for our space (God knows I won't be able to talk Mr. Jackson into it) but now I'm smitten with this smokey mint shade. With a toddler running around and coloring on the furniture we won't be trading up anytime soon but a girl can dream...

Aldo D'Orsay Flats - Natalie Instagrammed these fun flats and I'm in love! This cool blue is gorgeous but I'm also dying for the greige pair.

J.Crew Victorian Lace Top - Inspired by a vintage dress from the 20s, this lacy number is what dreams are made of... beautiful, Springtime dreams.

Four Favorites: Pastel Pretty

givenchy leather t-shirt, zara faux leather tube skirt, christian metzner cardcase & topshop neoprene peplum bralet

Since I'm making it my personal mission to keep a little Spring in my heart until the weather catches up (we saw a few snow flurries yesterday... stop it!), I've got my sights set on adding a couple of pastel pieces to my wardrobe. Pops of pretty pink and cool blue are at the top of my wishlist!
