It's easy to stick to tall boots and easy-to-walk-in flats during the chillier months but sometimes a little heel goes a long way! When I'm not traversing the outdoors (read: stalking the progress of our new studio by standing out in front while the painters finish up) I prefer to add a little height and drama to my outfits with a killer pair of heels.

Even though this look is pretty casual and comfortable (leather pants are basically my uniform these day.s... I wore them all weekend), it can easily be dressed up with a pair of pumps and worn to any winter party you have on the agenda. Even though the holidays are over, I find that colder weather calls for more nights spent inside chatting with friends.

Can you believe it's almost 2015?! While I come to terms with the new year, reflect on all of the amazing things that happened in 2014 and create my list of resolutions I'll be doing a little winter hibernating. This week I'm hiding away at home with a lot of tea, a record player and my thoughts for the future.

Sometimes winter can seem dreary (it's been cold and rainy every day for weeks) but it's nice to have the space to breathe and recoup when the weather is chilly. We don't usually see a traditional "winter" season here in Alabama but since encountering a light dusting around this time last year, I've been crossing my fingers for snow. A cozy sweater (like this one from Free People) and no-brainer thigh highs are perfect for staying warm and stylish when it's cold out.

Come Autumn I just can't get enough apples! Apples as decor, apples for pie, the smell of apples, apples as photo shoot props... why not? The perfect encapsulation of changing leaves and Autumn hues, there's something about a honeycrisp that speaks of my favorite season.

As much as I love an ankle boot, sometimes it's nice to mix things up a little (while achieving the same "cool girl" look) with a peep toe. Since Fall is such a transitional season, it's not yet too cold for a bit of toe/heel action. These aptly titled "shoeties" are perfectly easy to dress up (when paired with a sweet dress) or down (with skinny jeans or a cool jumpsuit).
