Is it just me or is the month of December flying by this year? I'm trying my hardest to focus on the season and create a festive home filled with Christmas crafts and brown paper packages (bonus points if they're tied up with string) but I've been so swamped with work projects that I'm not quite in the holiday spirit... yet. There's nothing like a moodboard to get me inspired (#bloggerproblems). Now I'm pumped to finish my shopping, add another couple of pine branches around our house and cozy up with my little family. Buying presents for my mother, sister, best friends and self (because with so many wonderful things right now it has to be done, am I right?!) is always the cheeriest task during the holiday shopping frenzy. It's seems so easy to find a bunch of fabulous gifts for my favorite women and I love browsing the crowded shops while Christmas music fades in and out of the background.
Keeping with tradition, most of my picks this year are neutral hued but interesting textures and pops of metallic detail keep everything far from bland. Holiday shopping for little ones (Lorelai included) is so much fun! For some reason, everything is sweeter in tiny sizes and Christmas is just so magical when seen through the eyes of a child tearing through paper and tossing aside ribbon. Since Santa will be dropping off all of the show-stopping presents this year, it's up to me to package up the quirky trinkets and cold-weather gear. I'm always looking for excuses to pass on the princesses and incorporate a few more design-y toys (like that incredible play house and beautifully illustrated classic novels!) into our home. After all, if they're going to litter the floor 24/7, they'd better be cute. Right?!
