Holiday Gift Guide: Littles

bungalow play home, hoodie, julia child, little women, cubebot, ankle boots,
wooden blocks, moose hat, crown, moccasins, buffalo print, little lamb

Holiday shopping for little ones (Lorelai included) is so much fun! For some reason, everything is sweeter in tiny sizes and Christmas is just so magical when seen through the eyes of a child tearing through paper and tossing aside ribbon. Since Santa will be dropping off all of the show-stopping presents this year, it's up to me to package up the quirky trinkets and cold-weather gear. I'm always looking for excuses to pass on the princesses and incorporate a few more design-y toys (like that incredible play house and beautifully illustrated classic novels!) into our home. After all, if they're going to litter the floor 24/7, they'd better be cute. Right?!

Today I'm appearing on my good friend Sara's blog, A Dose of Pretty. When Sara approached me to participate in her "Mommies Behind the Blog" series I was flattered. A longtime fan of the feature, I've taken so much inspiration and reassurance from other creative mommas and their unique stories. Whats more, the post finally gave me an excuse to play dress up in a giant dreamy cotton field (be still my styling heart!) with Lorelai. It's such a blessing to capture Lo as she is during this fun and special age of three!

A huge thank you to Sara for having me on her truly beautiful site! To read about motherhood, life and the future of Chelsea & The City, please check out the interview here.

Holiday Gift Guide: For The Kids

holiday-gift-guide-kidsEverything is sweeter when it's mini-sized... especially tiny loafers and city-cool toys tied up in pretty bows, stuffed under the tree! Whenever I buy gifts for Lorelai, I go with small versions of things I would love to get myself. She loves being like mommy and I appreciate tripping over well designed toys! This year, a few fun playthings, a warm winter coat and something fun to put in her big girl room are all in her letter to Santa. Because it's never too early to foster a good habit, Lo and I will be sending out thank you cards after we've opened presents... I'm sure the grandmas will appreciate a little scribble from Lo!
