Chelsea Lately

Lately I've been feeling a little too disconnected. My thoughts have been swept up in moving, demanding projects, professional conflicts and family. I miss giving this little corner of the internet the attention it deserves and I'm staging a comeback. While I work on collecting my thoughts and developing new features, here's what I've been up to:

feeling exhausted, rewarded and in major need of coffee.
liking the peace and quiet the next few days will bring
making a eucalyptus wreath with leftovers from my hifi booth
cooking a little healthier these days... we're in wedding diet mode!
drinking the winter calls for a few extra cups of coffee
reading  starting the '100 books to read before you die' list
wanting to get back on track with the blog and homemaking
looking for any excuse to delay packing for our move
playing card games with Mr. Jackson during downtime
wasting all of the hours in the day
wishing for a few new projects
enjoying the dreamy winter fog while it lasts
waiting for my sister to arrive in Alabama

wondering how to arrange our new apartment
hoping for it to snow sometime this winter
marveling at the wonderful people who have come into my life
needing a little "me time"
smelling frankincense and lavender essential oil
wearing something comfy (and very old)
following a path that I never could have imagined
noticing all of the little things lately
knowing that my focus has been wavering recently
thinking about sleep...
bookmarking inspiring weddings to help me plan
opening the studio, finally!
giggling all day with Lorelai

With all of the sponsored posts happening last week (it was a blast but I'm a little wiped out from producing so much content), I figured you guys might appreciate a more intentional catch-up for this space. So much has been going on recently and those of you who aren't following me on Instagram may not know that Mr. Jackon and I are finally engaged! After almost seven years (half of them spent referring to him as either my husband or fiance to prying old ladies or when it felt like "girlfriend" wasn't quite the right word), a beautiful and crazy (see above) little girl and a thousand little moments that convinced me he was the one, I couldn't be happier to take this step with this amazing man. This space won't be turning into a wedding blog (for sure) but I'd love to know if you're interested in occasionally following along this journey with us!

Aside from finding the accessory I've been in search of my whole life, I'm still hard at work homeschooling Lorelai, preparing to open a new studio space, knee-deep in an exciting project with my sweetest friends and reveling in my favorite time of the year. This quote seems more than appropriate lately...

Never apologize for burning too brightly or collapsing into yourself every night. That is how galaxies are made.
— Tyler Kent White

I hate to gush but I have never been in a happier place in this life!

feeling excited to be engaged to my best friend
liking every version of the blanket coat
making a registry at one of my favorites, Anthropologie
cooking whole foods for the next 30 days (eek!)
drinking water and pumpkin spice tea... lots of tea
reading Anthology Magazine
wanting to stare at my hand every 30 seconds
looking forward to Halloween
playing new records by BANKS & Alabama Shakes
wasting time on pinterest
wishing my sister was visiting sooner but so excited for her to attend friendsgiving this year
enjoying my new title... "fiance" is so much better than girlfriend
waiting to get Lo excited for the holidays

wondering if we can stick to the whole 30 challenge
hoping to fit in some more yoga this week
marveling at the outpouring of love from family & friends
needing nothing... I have everything I could ask for
smelling  pumpkin latte candles
wearing my comfiest new pants (see them here)
following so many inspirational instagrammers
noticing how fleeting my favorite season seems
knowing I'll soon be Mrs. Jackson
thinking of jotting all of our recipes down
bookmarking thoughtful & wordy blogs
opening the new studio with Sleepy Fox soon!
giggling at the mess that has completely taken over my house

p.s. I've been toying with the idea of daily/weekly vlogging (video-blogging). Let me know, is that something you'd be interested in watching?!

Sharing my recent musings is always fun. After all, that's what this blogging thing is all about... right? While "Chelsea Lately" posts aren't everyone's cup of tea, they're some of my favorites to put together (the inner list-maker in me is jumping for joy). With a little inspiration from The Veda House blog, I decided it was high time that I shared a few more insights. What have you been up to lately?

Lately, I am...

feeling both overwhelmed and underwhelmed all at once liking being at home and re-establishing our routine making more projects with Lorelai (just for the sake of creating... fun!) cooking the same boring things over and over... got any favorite recipes?! drinking LOTS of coffee... more than usual reading the goldfinch (I'm almost done) wanting to sort out the perfect beauty routine looking for the best ballet classes & sweet dance gear for Lo playing purity ring by shrines wasting a ton of time on pinterest (shameless plug... follow me here) wishing that Mr. Jackson was as excited for his birthday as I am (it's later this month) enjoying my workspace's new home... we moved my desk right in front of a ton of natural light waiting for our 6th anniversary on the 29th
wondering where I'll find the time to get things done for the shop (hopefully soon!) hoping to meet up with a talented friend to chat about upcoming projects marveling at how the world just goes on needing to eat clean and get my butt into gear smelling freshly brewed coffee wearing a great white tee (note to self: you need more of these) following a ton of (new to me) stylish ladies on instagram noticing just how much I love being able to stay home with Lorelai during the day knowing that those days are numbered and soon it's back to the real world for me thinking about going back to school bookmarking inspiring blog designs in lieu of my impending refresh opening too many tabs giggling about Lo's sweet dance moves
