Embracing Winter with No Nonsense

Even though the days are getting longer and the sun is shining a bit longer, we're still in the midst of winter. I'm definitely taking the opportunity to dress is cozy layers and pull on my favorite knee-high socks while I still can.

A little while ago, I set out with my sweet girl (below) and best friend on a spontaneous adventure. We scaled muddy creeks, busy roads and prickly bushes just to lay in the tall golden grass and embrace the last few glimpses of winter. With warm toes and warmer hearts, we celebrated a magical season!

Into The Wild

There's something so magical about setting out on random adventures and exploring the world around you...

There's something so magical about setting out on random adventures and exploring the world around you... Nothing makes me feel quite as alive as getting out of the house, abandoning my routine and stepping into the wild unknown with a good friend by my side. I'm so thankful to have a group of willing adventurers in my life! Ginny and I stumbled upon this ghost-town train depot the other day and just had to look around a little while the wind whipped at my favorite new cape from Boohoo.

Sometimes (for me at least) the outfit you're wearing plays a big role in your desire to explore. When clothes are unfussy and beautiful it sets the tone for your interaction with the world. I definitely feel the urge to have an adventure in some boots made for climbing and something cozy. Don't get me wrong, I love a good party dress as much as the next girl (have you seen these yet?!) but sometimes you just need something with a little more soul.

Even though Summer is officially here (hooray for pool days, bike rides and BBQs), I'm not ready to let go of my leather jacket and knee high boots just yet. With a breezy dress (like this old one from Cotton On) in tow, I'm getting a little extra mileage out of my Fall/Winter favorites. How do you wear cold weather pieces in the Summer?
