Clear Skies Ahead

[show_ms_widget id="80388" image_id="126804" width="700" height="895"] I'm having a major light & airy moment! With my obsession spanning every shade from ecru to robin's egg, it looks like the moody days of Winter are finally behind me. I'm getting really excited for my trip to D.C. and I've got plans to stuff my luggage with breezy whites, comfy flats (for museum hopping, of course) and a little something to snap all of the fun details as they happen.

Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 - When my girl Sara shared her fun new purchase I couldn't help but think of all the little details I could document with one of these! Instagram is a blast but filtering and staging snapshots seems like a ton of work compared to the carefree shutter-snap + print style of this camera. Not to mention, I haven't printed a photo in years... I'd love to have some hard copies laying around!

H to T (head-to-toe) white via J.Crew - There's just something about all white that screams Spring. Although dangerous (I'm boycotting ketchup this season... one too many klutz moments), white ensembles are effortlessly cool and this ladylike skirt is at the top of my list. Weather permitting, I'm sticking to sparkly sandals and neutrals during our vacation.

Tradition Mayor Sofa - I last mentioned this modern couch here and have since fallen deeper and deeper for its clean lines and ice cream colored upholstery. At first I was thinking pink would be the perfect refresh for our space (God knows I won't be able to talk Mr. Jackson into it) but now I'm smitten with this smokey mint shade. With a toddler running around and coloring on the furniture we won't be trading up anytime soon but a girl can dream...

Aldo D'Orsay Flats - Natalie Instagrammed these fun flats and I'm in love! This cool blue is gorgeous but I'm also dying for the greige pair.

J.Crew Victorian Lace Top - Inspired by a vintage dress from the 20s, this lacy number is what dreams are made of... beautiful, Springtime dreams.

Spring Inspiration

[show_ms_widget id="48133" image_id="74329" width="700" height="1001"] I just couldn't narrow it down to four favorites this week so you're getting two extra sources of inspiration for warmer weather. I'm so over the cold, I can't even stand it! Last weekend we had two beautiful days of sunshine (we're talking 70 degrees) and now it's back to freezing here in Huntsville, Alabama. Since I'm spending most of my time daydreaming about Spring blooms and shedding my Winter layers, I thought I'd give you a peek at what has me twitterpated.

All-white dressing (image via) - Winter is always dark and dreary. While black, camel and greys all have their own special places in my heart, this girl is ready for a wardrobe change! I'm loving light and airy looks made of H to T white (but first I'll need some scotch-guard).

Cuyana Leather Tote - I've never really been a handbag girl. I can appreciate a beautiful bag, don't get me wrong, but I'd much rather toss everything in a chic tote. When I discovered Cuyana last year, their motto "buy less, buy better" really stuck with me. This company believes in both beauty and buying with intention and they're really nailed the classic tote. I'm dying for the caramel version... with a monogram, of course!

Bobbi Brown Beach Body Oil - Is it just me or has this winter been really harsh?! My skin, hair and nails are hating me right now and my beauty cabinet is due for a complete overhaul. The first step in Spring ready skin? Body oil, and lots of it. It doesn't hurt like this one smells like the beach!

Zara Pointy Shoes with Ankle Strap - No. more. boots.

Cuyana City Walk Panama Hat - A sun hat is a staple (even though it looks like we may have some time yet) and I just love the menswear inspired shape of the Panama. If Cuyana isn't your thing, this J.Crew version has been on my wishlist for years.

Tradition Mayor Sofa - Sprucing your closet is nice but lately I've been feeling like our space is looking a little drab. If I had my way, I'd breathe some life back into our sitting room with a pop of pink to match the season! What are the odds Mr. Jackson would go for that?

Southern Comfort

The longer I live in the South the more I fall in love with its charm... you just can't find history, hospitality or tradition like this anywhere in the world! We've been living below the Mason-Dixon line for almost six years and I'm finally coming to terms with abandoning my Yankee upbringing for a slower, sweeter lifestyle.

The funnest way to acclimate to Alabama has definitely been finding ways to incorporate a little bit of Southern comfort into our home. Where I may have opted for a minimalist Parsons desk before, something from the antique store fits nicely now (paired with an Eames chair, of cours... I'm never letting those babies go). A framed portrait of our first president? I would have called you crazy a few months ago but now I just can't get enough! One of my 101 in 1,001 goals was to start a collection and I've already picked up a few antique pieces of blue and white china. The challenge now will be to blend the two styles that I'm loving so much (modern and traditional).

There sure is something sweet about the South, ya'll. It's probably tea.
