We're finally home (for a bit)! Lorelai and I had the loveliest time in Washington DC and I can't wait to share all of the things we got into during our stay.  Things will go back to normal for a few days, with a quick break next week because we're headed out of town... again, and then it's gonna get crazy around here. I'm so excited to be working on a tiny refresh (with help from my girl Natalie), some awesome new projects and a ton of fabulous content. A little time away was just what I needed to fall in love with this corner of the internet all over again!

One of the first things we did in DC was visit the cherry blossoms. We happened to be blowing into town during the short window of time that they bloom and nothing says "Spring!" quite like streets littered with pretty pink petals. Lo was beside herself and even dressed for the occasion. She's at an age where she's able to choose her own outfits (with help) and this "pweety dress" is her all-time favorite.

p.s. I want to thank all of my super talented friends for filling in while I was away. It's such a blessing to make friends within this awesome community!

Over the weekend we had one beautifully clear day (which is pretty rare for the first week of February since we've been freezing lately) and just couldn't help but get outside and explore! We took Lorelai to feed the ducks, had a pizza al fresco and took a downtown stroll to check out the historic district. The brief thaw helped me imagine what Huntsville will be like in the Spring and I couldn't be more excited for the seasons to go ahead and change already. I was able to shed my coat for most of the day and bust out my all-time favorite pattern... stripes!

Since Grandmas usually come in pairs (Mr. Jackson's mom couldn't pass up a visit after mine came through in January), we're playing host to another house guest at the end of the week. Let the cleaning, guest room preparing and general stressing commence!

Chelsea & The City On Instagram

instagram-december-chelsea-and-the-city December is always such a fun month for us! With my birthday (I turned 23 this year) and everything that comes with celebrating Christmas (meeting Santa, decorating our tree, baking cookies with Lo, etc...) the month was filled to the brim with festivity. My favorite thing about being a young family is definitely creating our own traditions and that's why the holidays are such a special time of the year. This December we frolicked through the Christmas tree farm, decked the halls, sent our very first holiday cards and added the sweetest sparkly "J" (because I'm just THAT sure that I'll be a Jackson sometime soon) to our ornament collection. I couldn't have asked for a better month!
